Volcanoes National
Bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo in Rwanda, the Volcanoes National Park is best known as a sanctuary for the region’s rare mountain gorillas. Visitors flock here to experience a face to face encounter with these intriguing creatures. The park is set high on the jungle-covered slopes of the volcanic Virunga Mountains. Highly regulated treks through the reserve allow visitors to spend an hour at a time with these incredible primates in their natural habitat. While the gorilla’s are without a doubt the main drawcard, visitors can also look forward to exploring a network of scenic hiking trails, visiting the tomb of the world-famous Dian Fossey and the Karisoke Research Centre, and enjoying a beautiful day hike to the crater lake on Mount Bisoke. Today after taking your early morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive to visit the Kigali genocide memorial grounds, which honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994 through education and peace-building. You will be able to watch and listen to some video clips from some of the survivors of the incident. Later after lunch, you will proceed with a drive to Volcanoes NP through the magnificent route to your booked accommodation spend the rest of the afternoon relax and prepare for the next day’s trekking. Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel is located in Musanze and serves as an ideal base on which to explore the Volcanoes National Park. The lodge offers 13 bedrooms and a VIP cottage, all comfortably furnished and feature modern amenities. To enhance the experience, guests can make use of the onsite restaurant, pool, traditional sauna and a steam sauna.
After early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters. You will meet with your ranger who will brief you about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. You will then enter the forest in search of the gorillas. The trekking may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle and your group speed as well. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour.
The Volcanoes NP is home to about 480 mountain gorillas. There are Twelvehabituated gorilla families – Amahoro, Agashya, Titus, Kwitonda, Sabyinyo, Isimbi, Igisha, Muhoza, Kalisimbi, Umubano and Susa – each of the groups allows up to 8 participants per day. After a great experience, you will walk back to the starting point and be transferred to your lodge for lunch, and after lunch, you can decide to relax at your lodge at your leisure or head for a cultural encounter at Iby’ Iwacu cultural site to get an insight of Rwandan culture. In the morning after break we will head back to the office of tourism exactly 7.00 am, we move to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village where you are briefed by the ranger about the rules and regulations governing Golden monkey trek before you head off to the jungle. The trek can last from an hour to six hours depending on the Golden monkey’s movement. You will be given an hour with the golden monkeys to take as many pictures of your choice and later return for lunch and drive back to Kigali for departure for overnight Kigali Marriott
After arriving from Rwanda our guide will be pick you from Seronera Airstrip have Bush breakfast then whole day will be spent on a game drive in the Serengeti. The areas that you visit will depend upon where the migrating herds are (predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals). During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June they return up north. The yearly trek is determined by the rainfalls and the location of the herds might vary from year to year but your guide will know where to find the animals and where to see them best. Apart from wildebeests and zebras you might also spot predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs. You will spend another at Serengeti Serena Lodge
Sunrise morning game drives in thereafter return to the lodge for brunch. You may decide to set off for a full day game drive in the park to explore the endless plains of the mighty Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.
After breakfast you join another game drive in the Serengeti National Park. This morning you might spot animals you haven’t seen yet. The Serengeti is also home to the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – and today you might be able to see all the members of this group. After lunch at a picnic site, you will drive in direction of the Ngorongoro Crater. As soon as you have reached the edge of the crater, the caldera opens up before you. Over 25,000 animals live in this approximately 20 km wide crater. You will spend the night at a lodge directly on the crater’s edge with fantastic views over the caldera. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Serena Ngorongoro lodge.
After breakfast at daybreak you drive down into the crater. Inside the world’s largest caldera, you will see a diversity of wildlife ranging from black rhinos, and Thomson’s gazelles, lions and elephants and mountain reedbucks in the forests on the slopes. You might also see buffaloes, spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs and some of the more bird species of the area. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Ziwani Lodge
After breakfast starting activities to the southern end of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Lake Eyasi, Tanzania’s largest soda lake. This remote region is home to the Hadzape Bushmen,who are a traditional hunting tribe that speaks a “click” language. Spend time visiting with the tribe after their daily hunt, learning about life in this seldom-visited area. Cap off our visit with a picnic lunch at the lake before returning to the Ziwani Lodge for Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast at Ziwani lodge head to Lake Manyara National Park located approximately one hour away. Lake Manyara National Park is unique in its lush groundwater forest, very different from the savannah landscape. This superb scenic park, is set around the Lake is most famous for its tree climbing Lions, the soda ash lake and its flamingos. In the late afternoon heading back Arusha and overnight -Four point-Under Sheraton.
After breakfast you will continue relaxing at the hotel for trip, due your flight time. This day will be great to do some shopping culture heritage, Tanzanite museum.
