We started at Tarangire National park in which we saw, next to the ‘normal’ zebras, wilder beasts, impala’s, giraffes, warthogs and more, an amazing number of Elephants and we had our baptism of fire with lions next to the campsite.

After Tarangire we went to Lake Manyara were spent a day driving along the lake where we saw all kind of animal in het bush and millions of flamingos.
Although the first two national parks were impressive the tour did build up to better and better. Ngorongoro crater is a truly beautiful place where we added hippo’s and (nine!) rhinos to our list. In the Serengeti National Park, we saw a really unbelievable amount of wilder beast and zebra migrating through the area and we completed the Big Five with a number of leopards. Since we had a couple of days in this big park we were able to get away from the standard locations we could really enjoy the various landscapes and the variety of animals.

Next to the wonderful landscape and the number and variety of animals we were spoiled by our excellent driver/guide Ben who was able to spot and identify animals at enormous distances and could tell all kind of background stories about the animals, the parks and Tanzania.
Of course, there are things to improve like a slightly bigger tent and slightly better chairs and diner table but that really does not change the way we feel about this adventure. The car was in good condition and the served breakfast, lunch and dinner was tasteful. Public campsites are basic, but we still feel that our choice for those campsites instead of lodges by which we could add a couple of days to the safari was the right choice. Next time we would consider special campsites.

Such great guys with lots of expertise. The food was just delicious and Kamu knew when to wait and where to go to find the best animal spots. We wouldn't hesitate to repeat the experience with them if we ever come back to Tanzania again.We wish we could!

Omari picked us up on the first day and we were heading towards Tarangire national park. There we also met the cook - mr. D (D for delicious -definitely true!). We are still wondering how Mr D managed to prepare such delicious meals in a camp without any kitchen equipment that other chefs are used to. All meals were great.

Omari informed us every day about what we are going to do and when. He always asked if that's OK for us or if we have any other wishes. Which was great.
Also he was very knowledgeable and funny. Big plus!

The camp sites were way less minimalistic than expected. We had a dining area, proper showers and toilets. Even electricity was available at 2/3 camps.

Tarangire was awesome - we saw lots of elephants - directly next to our jeep. Omari seems very experienced which was probably the reason we saw so many animals so close by. We didn't have to chase any animals like many other jeeps did because we were there first - thanks to a great guide.

Second and third day we spent at serengeti where we spotted lions and leopards. Again also a great experince.

The last day we stayed in the Ngorogoro crater which was another unforgettable experience. We saw many lions, hippos and even a rhino. Again our guide did a remarkable job in spotting the animals and making sure that we have a great experience. You could see that it is important to him that we have a great time and that it is not just another job.

Every day we had amazing food prepared by our always happy cook, great lunchboxes and a lot of water. They made sure that everyone is satisfied.

Overall we would recommend Sunset Safari to everyone who wants to have a great experience with experienced and well organised guides! read less - 5/27/2017

We booked the tour on the spot, right on our first day in Arusha and it started right the next morning. The tour was from Arusha to Tarangire National Park on Day1, on to Serengeti on Day2 and 3, on to Ngorongoro Crater on Day4 and finally Lake Manyara and back to Arusha on Day5. We did long game drives every day and saw all the animals we wanted to see and more. Our guide Gela was great, he did his best to spot the animals and even did some extra rounds when necessary. He was always relaxed and let us have our time when we couldn't get enough of the animals.
Eventough the car broke down once, Gela got it fixed within two hours, while we had an early lunch and spontaneously visited a Masai village close by, which was also great.
The accommodations were basic but ok. The first and last night we stayed at a camp in small huts, which was a lot more comfortable than sleeping in the tents. The tents are in good condition, but you shouldn't expect too much from the provided mattresses, sleeping bags or the washrooms at the camps.
The food was good and always plenty and our cook was a nice guy as well.
Overall I think it is a good value for a good price deal. For paying more with other tour operators, you might get more comfortable seats in the car or a greater variety of meals, but the most important thing on the Safari is seeing the animals at closely as possible and a nice guide with the ambition to show you as much as possible and that is definitely what we got! read less - 9/12/2017

Geoffrey (the owner) was very helpful with the booking and the planning of the safari. We booked quite late because we had to be sure we could get off from work, but that wasn't a problem at all. Furthermore he answered all our questions and adjusted the itinerary accordingly.

For the safari, we booked a 7-day shared safari. Because we went with other couples the order of the itinerary was a bit adjusted, but this wasn't a problem. Benny our driver was very helpful, kind and a lot of fun. He had a great feel for the group and managed to please us all. He knew were to find the animals to and gave us what we came for, the big five and so much more. Benny shared a lot of information about the animals and living in Tanzania, which gave another dimension to the safari.

The accomodations of the national parks were basic, tent with matras, basic toilet and shower. But since you only slept there this wasn't a problem for us and it was what we had expected. You get what you pay for. If you want any luxury, you pay a minimum of 5 times the price per night for the accommodation. The cook Jumo made delicious food every day with fresh ingredients, and different flavours every day.

So this company gives you a fantastic trip for a reasonable price, we recommend it to everyone!

Our recommendation for 4 day trip: Tarangire, lake manyara and ngorogoro. But if we are being honest, we recommend going 7 days and see all the national parks, because every park has a different scenery (Arusha, tarangire, lake manyara, ngorogoro, serengeti) read less - 12/11/2019

Everything went without any trouble- the downpayment, the pick up for the briefing and the entire schedule. We did the tour with our guide Omar (Omie) and the cook Juma, those two were just great. Omar was very nice, motivated and helpful. Juma provided the best food we could have imagined on a Safari.
Upsides:
- very reliable and helpful
- Omar made sure we got to see the ‚Big 5‘
- Camp No 1 was actually an iglu instead of a tent
- enough time for taking photos etc.
- delicious food: breakfast - omlette, pancakes, fruits; lunch - lunch box with sandwich, chicken, snacks, fruits, juice; dinner: salad, rice, beef, chicken, pasta, fruits
Downside:
- Camp No 2 in Serengeti could have been cleaner, but that is apparently the public campside where all camping safaris head to
- Car was a bit old but we didn‘t have any trouble with it

Thanks to our guide Omaru, our 4 days 3 nights small group tour(3 pax) in the Safari was surely above our expectations, and he knows where to to find the animals. While we were in the Safari, the only thing we need to do was to enjoy the breath taking views and the closeness to the wild aninimals; everything else (Transportation, lodging, food...) was taken care by our experienced and knowledgeable guide.

My advice for doing a Safari tour:

1. Small group is better as you can move freely in the car to see the animals on both sides.
2.Plan your trip in advance and prepare the fund in advance in cash or bank transfer, generally credit card doesn't work well in Tanzania as there is 5% charge on the consumer side.
3.Bring warm clothes, SLR camera, binoculars with you.
4.Serengeti and Ngorongoro are must visit attractions.

Godfrey who is the owner organised all of our trip to such high standard we couldn’t have asked for more, and our Guide Omaru was such a knowledgeable and helpful young man!

We started at Tarangire National park in which we... read moreWe did an unforgettable beautiful 12-day tented safari with Sunset Africa. We started at Tarangire National park in which we saw, next to the ‘normal’ zebras, wilder beasts, impala’s, giraffes, warthogs and more, an amazing number of Elephants and we had our baptism of fire with lions next to the campsite.

After Tarangire we went to Lake Manyara were spent a day driving along the lake where we saw all kind of animal in het bush and millions of flamingos.
Although the first two national parks were impressive the tour did build up to better and better. Ngorongoro crater is a truly beautiful place where we added hippo’s and (nine!) rhinos to our list. In the Serengeti National Park, we saw a really unbelievable amount of wilder beast and zebra migrating through the area and we completed the Big Five with a number of leopards. Since we had a couple of days in this big park we were able to get away from the standard locations we could really enjoy the various landscapes and the variety of animals.

Next to the wonderful landscape and the number and variety of animals we were spoiled by our excellent driver/guide Ben who was able to spot and identify animals at enormous distances and could tell all kind of background stories about the animals, the parks and Tanzania.
Of course, there are things to improve like a slightly bigger tent and slightly better chairs and diner table but that really does not change the way we feel about this adventure. The car was in good condition and the served breakfast, lunch and dinner was tasteful. Public campsites are basic, but we still feel that our choice for those campsites instead of lodges by which we could add a couple of days to the safari was the right choice. Next time we would consider special campsites.
