The Rongai Route is the only Kilimanjaro route that approaches the mountain from the remote northern side, near the Kenyan border. Known for its low traffic, gentle gradients, and dry climate, Rongai is an excellent choice for climbers seeking a quieter and less crowded ascent.

This 6-day Rongai itinerary offers a steady and direct climb with good acclimatization, passing through unspoiled wilderness, open moorland, and alpine desert landscapes before joining the Marangu Route for the summit and descent. With experienced mountain guides from Sunset Africa Safari, this trek emphasizes safety, comfort, and a high chance of summit success.
