Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (or pick-up from your hotel in Kigali), you will be welcomed by your professional driver-guide for a short safari briefing.

Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an optional Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, or craft centers.

Afterward, depart for Volcanoes National Park (approximately 2.5–3 hours’ drive). The scenic journey takes you through Rwanda’s rolling hills, vibrant villages, and picturesque countryside.

Upon arrival near the park, check in at your lodge and relax as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and a detailed briefing by park rangers. You will be assigned to a habituated gorilla family group based on fitness level and preferences.

Begin your guided trek into the dense rainforest, led by experienced trackers who monitor the gorillas daily. The duration of the trek can vary from 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family.

Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch as they feed, groom, interact, and care for their young. Witnessing their intelligence, social structure, and human-like expressions is a powerful and humbling experience.

After your trek, return to the lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon, you may opt for a cultural village visit to learn about Rwanda’s traditions and community life (optional activity).

Day 3: Return to Kigali – Departure

After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic drive back to Kigali.

Depending on your departure schedule, you may explore more of the city, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, or visit craft markets for souvenirs.

You will then be transferred to Kigali International Airport or your preferred hotel, marking the end of your 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tour.
