Day 1: Arrival in Moshi (elevation: 2,800 feet)
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Sunset Africa Safari and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Take this day to relax, adjust to the local climate, and meet your fellow climbers. A pre-climb briefing will be conducted to ensure you are well-prepared for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp (elevation: 9,350 feet, distance: 6.2 miles, trekking time: 6-8 hours)
After breakfast, you will depart for the Machame Gate, where your Kilimanjaro adventure officially begins. The trail winds through lush rainforest, offering glimpses of exotic wildlife and colorful flora. As you ascend, the air becomes cooler and the landscape transforms into heath and moorland.
