Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania and Orientation
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Sunset Africa Safari, the renowned tour operator organizing this expedition. After a brief orientation and equipment check, you will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi, a vibrant town situated at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Take this day to rest, acclimatize, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
After breakfast, a short drive will take you to the Marangu Gate (1,860 meters), the starting point of your trek. Here, you will complete the necessary registration formalities before embarking on your journey. The trail winds through lush rainforests, offering glimpses of exotic flora and fauna along the way. After approximately 4-5 hours of trekking, you will reach Mandara Hut (2,700 meters), where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Leaving Mandara Hut behind, you will continue your ascent towards Horombo Hut (3,720 meters). The trail gradually becomes steeper, leading you through the heather and moorland zones of Mount Kilimanjaro. As you ascend, the scenery transforms, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. Trekking time for this leg of the journey is approximately 6-8 hours, and you will spend the night at Horombo Hut.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
On this day, you will push further towards your ultimate goal – the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail takes you through the alpine desert zone, characterized by rocky terrain and sparse vegetation. As you approach Kibo Hut (4,703 meters), the base camp for summit attempts, the air becomes thinner, and the temperature drops significantly. This leg of the trek usually takes around 6-8 hours, and you will rest at Kibo Hut before the final push.

Day 5: Summit Day – Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Descend to Horombo Hut
The most challenging and rewarding day of the expedition has arrived – summit day. You will start your ascent in the early hours of the morning, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro, before sunrise. The trek to the summit is physically demanding and mentally exhilarating, but the breathtaking views from the top make every step worthwhile. After celebrating your achievement, you will descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing to Horombo Hut (3,720 meters), where you will spend the night.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Departure
The final day of the trek begins with a descent from Horombo Hut to the Marangu Gate. The trail takes you through the rainforest once again, offering a refreshing change of scenery. After bidding farewell to the mountain, you will be transported back to Moshi, where a celebratory dinner awaits, commemorating your successful summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
