6 Days – Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing: Lemosho Route

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your mountain guide for a detailed climb briefing and final equipment check.

Overnight: Hotel in Moshi

Day 2: Lemosho Gate (2,100 m) – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 m)

After breakfast, drive to Lemosho Gate for registration before beginning your trek through pristine rainforest. This region is rich in birdlife and wildlife such as colobus monkeys and antelope.

Hiking time: 3–4 hours
Overnight: Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp – Shira 1 Camp (3,500 m)

Continue trekking through forest and into the moorland zone, where vegetation changes dramatically. As you gain elevation, enjoy expansive views across the Shira Plateau and western slopes of Kilimanjaro.

Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Overnight: Shira 1 Camp

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp – Lava Tower (4,630 m) – Barranco Camp (3,960 m)

This is a key acclimatization day. Trek to Lava Tower, stopping for lunch at high altitude before descending to the stunning Barranco Camp, set beneath the iconic Barranco Wall.

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Barafu Camp (4,673 m)

Climb the Barranco Wall in the morning, a non-technical but exhilarating scramble with panoramic views. Continue across alpine desert terrain to Barafu Camp, your base for the summit attempt.

Arrive early to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the midnight ascent.

Overnight: Barafu Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) – Mweka Camp

Begin your summit push shortly after midnight. Reach Stella Point at sunrise and continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

After celebrating your achievement, descend to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi

Descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to Moshi or onward to your next destination.
