Unveiling the Beauty and Challenges: A Detailed Itinerary for a 7-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Climb on the Lemosho Route

Day 1: Moshi (1,400 meters / 4,593 feet) to Lemosho Glades (2,100 meters / 6,890 feet)
After a hearty breakfast in Moshi, the adventure begins with a scenic drive to the Londorossi Gate. From there, the journey continues through lush rainforests and stunning landscapes until reaching the starting point of the Lemosho Glades. This first day of trekking covers a distance of approximately 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) and takes around 3-4 hours.

Day 2: Lemosho Glades (2,100 meters / 6,890 feet) to Shira 1 Camp (3,500 meters / 11,483 feet)
As the altitude gradually increases, the second day of the climb offers mesmerizing views of the Shira Plateau. Trekking through the heath and moorland zones, climbers will cover a distance of approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles) during a trek lasting around 5-6 hours.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp (3,500 meters / 11,483 feet) to Moir Hut (4,200 meters / 13,780 feet)
Continuing the ascent, the third day brings climbers to the Moir Hut, located in a secluded area with stunning views of the mountain. This day’s trek covers a distance of approximately 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) and takes around 5-7 hours, crossing the rocky terrain of the alpine desert.

Day 4: Moir Hut (4,200 meters / 13,780 feet) to Barranco Camp (3,950 meters / 12,960 feet)

Day 7: Barafu Camp (4,673 meters / 15,331 feet) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters / 19,341 feet) to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters / 10,170 feet)
The culmination of the expedition arrives on the seventh day as climbers conquer the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak. Beginning in the early hours of the morning, climbers will embark on a challenging ascent, reaching the summit around sunrise. After celebrating their achievement, climbers will descend to the Mweka Camp, covering a distance of approximately 18 kilometers (11.2 miles) during a trek lasting around 12-15 hours.
